Well, here it is… my blog! Now…what to write…
I’ve been playing with the idea of starting a blog for just a few weeks now – a blog mainly to document ideas, things I like and things I love… to post websites I am drawn to so I can keep visiting them over and over, to keep track of designs I would love to try in our decorating schemes in our home, note colors we’ve used in the past, and all that.
You see, I am currently “living the dream”… my dream that is, anyways. I am a stay at home mom to our 3 beautiful children, currently ages 7, 3 and 3 months. I have already lived 2 of my dreams… I worked as a flight attendant for 3 and 1/2 years, which was my dream since I went on my first flight when I was 13. My last career was working as an Esthetician, for 8 years, 5 and 1/2 of those was owning my own home-based Spa – truly another dream come true. But when our second child came along, and the first was in school, the demands that came with both caused us to reassess our situation. This was now the time to make the change for me to fulfill my newest dream, to be a full-time stay at home mom. We were blessed with a third child, and now life is certainly busy and full.
But in the meantime, my creative channels have been buzzing!! I can feel it through to the end of my fingertips! When I was pregnant with our baby, I had the perfect excuse to use some of this pent up energy – to decorate our middle child, our daughter’s bedroom, plus create a new baby room. While the baby room is still in the works, almost complete, our daughter’s room turned out perfect. With this endeavor came a lot of Craigslist shopping, painting furniture, making curtains, researching blogs … and now a monster has been unleashed!
My plan for this blog is for it to mostly be about design and a little about life. I am in no way a designer, I don’t know how to stitch or sew, I don’t know how to stage a room or hang a picture, I don’t know how to properly paint furniture, but I do my creative best (and of course, always on a budget)!
Do I think I am full of enough information or ideas to maintain a blog? I guess we’ll see! Do I dare to even write a blog when I might accidentally spill something private for everyone to read? Yikes, I better edit well! Do I think I’m interesting enough to have any followers? Well, I’ll try it anyways, Because (I think) I Can!!
