The day after Halloween I was out shopping, and I don’t know why, but I was shocked to hear Christmas music playing in the stores already!! Christmas stock has been in for a few weeks already, but the music surprised me. Jordan is reminding me of the weekly countdown – only 7 more weeks to go mom! – and I’m starting to realize, the time will fly by before I know it. So maybe I should start getting ready! I love Christmas, and this year for whatever reason, I am really looking forward to it. Every year I promise myself I will get everything done early, but I never do. Then I came across Karen’s post on The Art of Doing Stuff. Here is her Christmas pledge she shared with all of her readers:
“I Karen, being of sound mind and body, (except for an occasional dagger-like pain in my eyeball from a migraine) hereby declare I am going to be completely and totally organized for Christmas by December 4th.
That gives me exactly one month to get everything done.
By everything, I mean by December 4th I want all of my presents bought, the house decorated and all my Christmas cards completed and sent out. That leaves pretty much the entire month of December to actually enjoy the festive, holiday season as opposed to cursing it and everyone associated with it.
I should let you know, I have this thought in my head every year, but never actually commit to it.”
This year, I might try this – I’m not promising you anything, but I’ll give it my best shot! So to get started, when I was in FabricLand the other day, I found Silver pillow cases – perfect for my mostly Silver Christmas decorations – and I found these pre-made covers for only $2.00 a cover!! Yay!
