That’s right, today I’m blogging about tin cans, and making them beautiful!
You may have seen this little craft when I showed it on Randee’s Organized Chaos… it was super quick and super easy… the perfect craft!
As you read in previous posts, my beautiful table Abby is staying (no longer for sale) and has taken residence in an open corner of our living room. She has become the kids new craft table. But because Abby is SO beautiful, and because as a craft table she now usually looks like this,
with Jordan’s huge white bucket collection of crayons, felts, pencil crayons, etc, I wanted to pretty it up a bit, and minimilize it a lot! To turn her into this,
(The board in the picture will be posted about on Thursday!)
…In comes the clean and soon to be upcycled tin cans, and here’s how it was done:

...modgepodge the seam, and the rest of the can... (for those who don't know, ModgePodge creates a finish similar to laminating)

...I then decided they each needed their own supply holder, otherwise they fight over everything... so this is what both the folders looked like "before" and I followed the same steps as I did with the cans...
Trust me, it only looked this clean for the pictures…it now looks just as crazy as it did in the first photo… however, it’s much easier to clean up and keep everything organized!!
How do you keep your kids supplies organized??
I wanted to let you know that I am currently making some big and intimidating changes to my blog… I am changing it over to a self-hosted site, but still with WordPress. This will allow me to grow my blog easier, and add advertisers when I am ready. This is defiantely one of those steps in life that before we began the move, I thought “of course I can do this”, and as soon as we began the change, my thought process change to “I think I can do this!” But with hubby’s help, hopefully we can do it seamlessly, without making things difficult for you as readers and followers!
Thanks for reading!!

What a great idea! I love repurposing something that usually get’s thrown away. Right now I have formula containers that I’m repurposing to hold coffee. I’d love it if you shared at my linky party… http://www.serendipityandspice.blogspot.com
