A Very Busy Party Week!

Well, I just spent too much time sorting through all the pictures of all the projects I made this past month… because I did so many projects at the same time, the pictures are so mumble-jumbled, and I don’t have many full tutorials on the projects.  Eeks.  Oh well, right now I’ll show you some of the celebrations from this past week!

On Tuesday, my beautiful Anna turned 4!

On Tuesday she had her “best friend” over for a play date, and together we baked 24 cupcakes and one very yummy chocolate cake (that’s right!  I baked with 2 four-year olds!  And we had fun!)   The chocolate cake was for the grandparents coming over that evening, and the cupcakes were for her class the next day.

For those who may be wondering, we did “pretend” baking!

Tuesday was also my parent’s wedding anniversary!!  And distracted me totally forgot.  :(   Sorry mom, and dad!

 

This week was also a big deal for my hubby’s parents, as Elissa sat with them for the first time and SMILED!  (Elissa is very shy, with a very large personal bubble, she will only let a select few touch her).

Thursday I hosted a Partylite Party, and among other things, I prepared a big hit.  I had never made these before, but check out these Apple Nachos!  They were delish!

And my favorite punch, have you tried this before?

pina colada punch!

I take a can of frozen Pina Colada concentrate, a can of frozen berry juice concentrate, a 2L of Gingerale, mix and enjoy!  Super Yummy.

Also on Thursday, this gorgeous babe turned 11 months old!  I can’t believe she’ll be 1 next month!  :(

On Saturday we had Anna’s “friend” party, and invited some of her closest friends/cousins, and all of their siblings!  This meant baking another 24 cupcakes!  Anna had a Cowboy themed party (because a few months back a neighbor gave us a huge box of cowboy party supplies!  She didn’t really have a choice!)

So it was Cowboy hats and mustaches for all who dared!  Trampoline time, pin the tail on the donkey game, horseshoe toss, presents, cupcakes and free time.  And I was beat!

We had a fabulous idea to take pics of all the kids wearing these, and making a “wanted” poster with each of them, but Hubby couldn’t get the computer to do its thing.  disappointing.  I’ll be posting them on my personal facebook for the moms to see :)

So today (Sunday) I had a 2 hour nap to recoup!

This week I’ll be putting a lot of energy preparing my projects for a vendor table on Thursday, and then life should be a little back to normal!  Ya, right!

Fame On Fridays #5

It’s Fame On Fridays …because I heart my readers! 

Today’s Reader Feature: Connie from Hot Flash’n Crafty! 

Meet Connie!  I loooove the name of her blog!  :)
 

For years, I’ve worked with my boyfriend and his Irrigation business.  Not only doing all of his office work, but all of the accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.  That didn’t keep me to busy so Mr. Nelson bought me a Hand held Trimble Geo XH.  I know, sounds complicated, and well, it is.  It’s a GPS unit. So here’s how it works:  I travel to the golf courses and go hole by hole shooting points of  heads, valves, splices, etc…. then take that information, download it, and map it. This gives the owner’s of the golf course a detailed map of the irrigation that has been installed.  I love doing this but since it doesn’t keep me too busy, it allows me the freedom, to just be me, “ Hot Flash’n Craft’n!” lady on the loose!!!

This is how I discovered the wonderful world of blogging!  It too has so many things about it that I enjoy. A world unto itself with the desktop publishing, the crafting (of course), and I do love making friends.  It has all been such a wonderful experience. However, I’m still at the point where I’m not exactly sure which way I’m going with the business part of it, but I have the time to consider it. Meanwhile, I will craft, sew and post, until it comes to me.  Blogging also gives me a way to share all that I do with my family and now all my friends.  I’m Connie at  Hot Flash’n Craft’n!!   Thanks for stopping by!

So for the 7 things about myself….  It’s been a little while since I’ve written any random facts about myself, but let’s see if I can come up with any more!

1.  I wake up with reaaaallly bad bed head.  And I mean really bad.  My husband calls me Marmoset.  Now I know I’ve mentioned my favorite animals are marmosets, but I don’t really want to look like one!

2.  I talk a lot in my sleep.  I always have.  As a child I would walk through the house and have conversations with family members.  And apparently just last night I sat up in bed and told my hubby he had to turn off the “daddy alarm”.  I have no idea what I was talking about!

3.  It’s my daughter’s 4th birthday today!!  I can hardly believe it!  She is amazing, and we are so blessed to be celebrating her birthday today.

4.  I have a super special feature for you guys lined up in May.  But that’s all I’m going to say about that!

5.  I am tired.  I’ve been working my butt off getting projects ready for a function in May, and now that I’m done, I am beat.  And my closets are overflowing with who-knows-what.  So I may not be blogging as often in May, so I can try to purge our house.  Again.

6.  I love the name Sheamus.  Random piece of info, I know.  It’s just that it’s a name that doesn’t really work with our German last name, and most people give me a funny look when I mention that name.  I just really love it.

7.  I might be one of the few people in British Columbia that doesn’t mind all the rain that we get.  Don’t get me wrong, I love sunshine, and in the summer I expect sunshine, but I find rain to be very relaxing.

So those are my random facts for today!!  Do you have some random facts about you that you can share with me??

I’m going to be a very naughty award recipient and not announce my 7 picks for the award yet.  I want a little more time to think on it, and as I’ve had to award others with all the other awards I’ve received, I’m running out of blogs I know to pass awards on to!  I hope I’m forgiven, and I will follow-up soon!

She will do anything from cooking, crafting, baking, kids crafts, fashion inspiration, organization, and more!   • Project: day 136: get crafty/ diy chalkboard table display markers/tags for spa sleepover party!
  • Difficulty rating (1=easiest, 5= way too hard!): 2
  • Would I do it again? yes! I love how you can just erase the chalk and reuse these table markers for each and every party!
  • What I would do differently: I added a simple ribbon which tied in with the party colors, other than that, nothing!
  • Items used: Inexpensive Ikea photo holders spray painted with chalkboard paint on one side so I could keep pictures of the party girl on the back, and of course chalk to write the party items!
