A Little Bit of This and That

and a little something in the works, but I can't say for what just yet!...

I’ve been feeling like I’ve been talking a lot about “things” going on in life lately, but I haven’t had the chance to actually blog about them, as they are all random little things… so I figured I’d start this weekend by wrapping up some loose ends!!

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned I was having a vendor table at our kid’s elementary school Ladies Night fundraiser.  It turned out to be an awesome event, great ladies and great vendors (and great sales too!).  And I remembered to take pictures of my vendor table, thanks to a comment from one of my readers (thanks Kelly!)  If you look close, you’ll get some sneak peaks of items that I haven’t blogged about yet, and some of them are still available for sale!  :)

My First Vendor Table!!

Do you see anything that catches your eye? Let me know! :)

I’ve also been mentioning the weather quite a bit… we actually had almost a couple of weeks straight of sunshine, and it feels like it has been forever since we’ve had that… because it HAS been forever!!  So we’ve been soaking it up!

A couple of weekends ago we went out to Harrison Hot Springs, which I’ve already told you all about, but I wanted a chance to show off my kids from our day at the beach!

this gorgeous little lady turns 1 next week!!! ONE!

Hubby and Anna

Jordan brings his bug catching equipment with him everywhere!!

Isn't she beautiful?!

oops. Am I allowed to put this online? Hubby didn't even notice this little slip till I pointed it out. Do you see it?!

I love this photo, beautiful 4-year-old Anna

awww, so handsome!

In the garden…

the lilacs are in bloom and our bush is full of them... unfortunately Jordan seems to be allergic to them, they had to be moved back outside.

And then it was Mother’s Day.  I had a fabulous weekend celebrating!  It began on Friday with a Mother’s Day Tea Party at Anna’s preschool…  absolutely adorable!

getting ready to perform!

adorable decorations...

adorable place settings made by our adorable children...

adorable snacks...

an adorable little lady who was just so proud!...

I couldn't resist taking a bite of the muffin before taking a picture!

Saturday was spent poolside at the in-laws (hubby and the kids dared to dive in!).  Sunday morning I was spoiled with Calla Lilies (my favorite) and – get this - Tin Snips!!  I was thrilled!  No more having to borrow when I make my magnetic boards!  We then grabbed some Tim Hortons and went to the river to watch the fish jump, and still made in time to Agassiz for church at my parents church.  We spent a beautiful sunny day with my side of the family.  Awesome.

In the meantime I’ve been working on some projects…

a special something for a special someone....

a few custom orders in the works...

and a little something in the works, but I can't say for what just yet!...

Shopping…

I've mentioned this on facebook, page, but not here yet... I am SO looking forward to this!! the best of the best will be vendors here, and I can't wait to dig through the treasures there, and also gain some inspiration for my own projects!

and today I fell in love… I have driven by this store a million times over the years, always wondering if it was worth taking the time to stop in there.  A friend recently recommended it to me, so today I dragged my 2 girls over there… and from the squeaky front door to the adorable back porch, I was smitten.  Creekside Country Home Decor is now at the top of my list for my favorite stores in town!

Well, I think that is about it!  I hope you all have a fabulous weekend, and hopefully an extra day off?!

Fame On Friday #7

That’s right, it’s Fame On Friday again, …because I heart my readers!!

I’m excited about my guest today! I know, I’m always excited, but I never knew Tammy before I read this post she sent me, and now I want to know her more!
Enjoy her!

A Little Glimpse of the Lady Behind Homespun Happenings:

My name is Tammy.

I am the Lady behind Homespun Happenings.I have been blessed to be able to homeschool all four of my children. My hubby and I have been married for 17 years.

As a family, we love to serve in
our church, serving where ever is needed  from cleaning the bathrooms to
teaching a Sunday school class.:)  As a Christian, my ultimate goal in life is to be the wife and mother that the Lord wants me to be.

So……..Homespun Happenings  is a little mix of what the Lord is doing in my family, some chattering on about what is in my heart, and a lot of my crafty
creations. I would say that my blog has turned into more of a crafting blog since I started it back in September of 2010.

I enjoy creating primitive, cottage, and homespun looking crafts of all kind in my spare time.
Hence the name of my blog.

I love finding “trash” and turning it into something useful.

I find great inspiration from all you crafty ladies out there.
I just launched a new Linky Party called Rustic Restorations Weekend.
It lasts all weekend.I would love to have you join in the fun and be inspired to restore those things around your home.
==================
Thank you so much Tammy!
Tammy also has a facebook page, so make sure you take some time to check her out and say Hi!
Thanks for reading!

It’s Pinterest Wednesday!!

I’m writing this post Tuesday evening, and I just got back from a very heavy and emotional meeting…so although I page through Pinterest, I don’t feel inspired.  Can you imagine??  So instead I’m spending some time with pins I have pinned in the past.  Do you ever do that?  I love looking at what I have pinned before, looking at all these things I love, things that make me smile.  So today I’ll share some of the ones that are standing out to me… enjoy!

I am so in love with this kitchen makeover. The color of the backsplash is stunning, and the whole room feels so light and airy. I would like to replicate this is my kitchen one day!

I go crazy for wild cottage gardens, and I adore this one pictured with the shed. Until we had 3 children, I really enjoyed my time in the garden (although I don’t have a clue what I’m doing… if you haven’t noticed, I’m a trial and error person, not much research involved!) But with the little ones, I find taking care of the outdoors on top of it all a little overwhelming, and so hubby has taken over. He loves researching. And he loves more streamlined gardens, I think. One day I will get my hands dirty again, and will have gardens like this!

Spring Break Day #1

I’m one of those moms.  I never was until the past year or so… I wish I wasn’t… don’t tell my kids…

I used to LOVE spring break and other holidays when the kids were home from school.  But over the past year or so, I have found that I just can’t fulfill my oldest child’s needs when he is home.  When he was the only child, I had a blast with him.  When we had 2 kids, it was manageable.  Now with 3, my poor Jordan is bored to death.  And the weather isn’t helping.  The weather doesn’t know it’s supposed to be spring.  So we are stuck indoors.

And you may have noticed, I am spoiled.  I am a stay-at-home mom, with a husband who works from home 3 out of his 5 work days a week, and although we can’t afford much, we have a wonderful quality of life.  I get to do the things that make me happy, like writing this blog and doing all the fun stuff that I get to write about.  I will admit, in the meantime, I have become somewhat selfish.  I am not proud of it.  I am used to having the schedule I want, workout when I want, clean when I want, craft when I want…. yes, I am usually pretty homebound doing all those things around my children’s schedules, but I kind of like it that way.

I really do hope to have fun with the kids this spring break, and we all know Pinterest has tons of inspiration for things to do with the kids, so I’m hoping to check a lot of those off the list these next 2 weeks.  I am wild about my children, and love the times their faces glow with happiness, but the inside of my head can get a little loud at times, and so I need to get a few “to-do’s” out-of-the-way before the fun comes.

So today we worked on picking apart Jordan’s bedroom (have a mentioned he’s a hoarder?!)

cleaning boy's bedroom

plus it was laundry day,

laundry day

my first load of the day....about 7 more have been added on to this....after this post I will go fold and watch The Bachelor!!

I listed a whole bunch of stuff on Craigslist… bye-bye baby stuff :( bye-bye old appliances! (yes! we finally splurged and bought a new dishwasher and stove! Whoohoo!)

stove for sale

my brest friends nursing pillow

Tomorrow I need to finish up some custom orders…

Figure out how to create a code for the button I created for my blog (anyone know??)

blog button, Because I think I Can

And then hopefully the voices in my head can quiet down, and I can get to having some fun!

What do you like to do for fun with your kids??

Big Girl Room Reveal!

So, I have mentioned before that our big girl, Anna, received a bedroom makeover lately, and I am so excited to share this with you.  But before I do, I am going to take you back, waaaayyy back, to 2003…

this was the room of tonight’s topic, when we first came to look at the house for purchase :(   Now, just in case the last people who lived in this house read this blog, I will put in here that they rented this house, had I believe 3 teenage daughters, and we showed up with the real estate agent at 8:00 am on a school day.  Woops!

Anna's room before

We were blessed to find we were expecting our first child shortly after we bought the house.  So our “dump room” at this point, needed a remodel.

baby #1 on the way!

We had a baby boy!

4 years later, along came our #2 baby…

Anna

Having not much money in the budget, and again, thinking the colors of the room that would be passed on to her was very unisex, she moved right on in…. however, all the pink that also moved in, completely clashed with the room.

Now, you also have to understand, our little anna was born with fire red hair, and is a Diva in the truest form.  some people have princesses, we have a Diva.  So this bedroom did not suit her at all, which, of course, irritated me.  So when baby #3 was coming along, I was thrilled to have the freedom to do a makeover.  I had just sold my business, and had a little extra cash for this adventure, so there were a few things I could splurge on.  The first splurge was the inspiration for the room:  The WallPaper:

So beautiful I could hardly stand it!

…Anyways, I am really tired right now, and still have a hutch and a desk to add another layer of varnish to, so I’m going to leave it at that, and continue tomorrow!!  Thanks for reading!
